The importance of this book, “Imam al-Bukhari and His Sahih Collection”, lies in the fact that the nation received “Sahih al-Bukhari” with acceptance and regarded it as the most authentic book after the Book of God Almighty. This is evident in the dedication of scholars to explaining, abridging and annotating it, and even to translating it into other languages in the present day. In addition, when some hadith scholars found a hadith reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, they would limit themselves to citing it from there and go no further in tracing its sources, because a hadith’s inclusion in Sahih al-Bukhari is a mark of authenticity, so they saw no need to mention any other source. This is clear evidence that Imam al-Bukhari, may God have mercy on him, exerted great effort in compiling his book until it reached us in its present form, and deserved to be a benchmark of a hadith’s authenticity and freedom from any weakness. How great is the Muslims’ need today to know what their predecessors exerted in conveying the hadith to them, since they knew it was a heavy trust placed upon their shoulders, and they were the most deserving and worthy of it. From this standpoint, Dar Al-Farouk is pleased to present to the Islamic nation the book “Imam al-Bukhari and His Sahih Collection” at a time when the Messenger of Islam (peace be upon him) is being attacked, while many of his nation know nothing of his Sunnah.
