Orders & delivery
How long does delivery take?
Within Egypt it usually takes 2 to 7 days, and 5 to 12 days from Egypt to other countries. In Saudi Arabia, orders from our Saudi stock take 2 to 5 days, and economy shipping from Egypt takes 21 to 35 days. You will receive a message when your order ships. See all the times in Shipping & Delivery.
How much does shipping cost in Egypt?
From 70 EGP for orders up to 7 kg, depending on your governorate, plus 3 to 11 EGP for each extra kilogram. Your exact cost appears at checkout, before you pay. See all rates in Shipping & Delivery.
Do you deliver outside Egypt?
Yes. We ship to most countries in the world with DHL Express, and offer a lower-cost economy option to Saudi Arabia. The shipping cost for your location is shown at checkout before you pay, and there are no customs duties on economy shipping to Saudi Arabia. See Shipping & Delivery.
Will I pay customs duties?
Not in Egypt, and not on economy shipping to Saudi Arabia. Other countries may charge duties on arrival; Hawamech covers 20% of what you pay, as a gift card or store credit. See Shipping & Delivery.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive a message with its tracking details. You can follow it at any time on our Order Tracking page with your order number or the shipment number, plus the email or phone you used at checkout.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, with a full refund, within 2 hours of placing it and before it is handed to the courier. Contact us with your order number.
Returns & payment
Can I return or exchange a book?
Within 30 days of delivery, we replace or refund any book that arrives wrong, missing, damaged or with a manufacturing defect. Send us photos within 24 hours of delivery. New books in good condition cannot be returned, as the law allows. See our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
Send us photos or a video within 24 hours of delivery. We reply within 24 hours and replace the item or refund it, and we pay the return shipping.
What payment methods do you accept?
Online payment and bank transfer from anywhere, and cash on delivery in Egypt for orders from 200 to 3,000 EGP (10 EGP fee). In Egypt you save 3% on your products when you pay in advance. See Payment Options.

Can you find a book that isn’t on the website?
Often, yes. Send us a book request with the title, the author and the publisher (a photo of the cover helps). Our team looks for it and gets back to you with the price and availability.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes. At checkout, choose the wrapping paper and a finishing touch (wax seal, satin ribbon, jute twine or sticker), and add a greeting card with your message. Available for orders delivered in Egypt for now.
How do reward points work?
You earn 1 point for every 10 EGP you spend on products, added once your order is delivered, plus bonuses for your first order, economy shipping, a Facebook review, an unboxing video or a donation. 100 points are worth 10 EGP; use them as a discount or a gift card within 180 days. Do you offer discounts for schools and organisations?
Yes. Schools, universities, libraries, charities, reading clubs and companies get special prices based on the size of the order. Write to us for a formal quotation.
