Ahmed Hussein: The Transformations of a Rebel

This book sheds light on the rebellious personality of Ahmed Hussein, who held the title of “the Greatest Mujahid of Young Egypt,” whose facets were many and varied. From his youth he began a path in which he sought to play a role on the soil of his homeland, and he succeeded in recording it throughout modern and contemporary Egyptian history. That role branched out, shifted and took on bright colors that were often not appropriate. He carried the concerns of his country’s causes in a period when national feelings were inflamed, and loved Egypt according to a vision that did not hold to a single approach, and so he wasted efforts he had made and was unable to invest them. He had an extraordinary ability to continue the struggle to spread and promote the ideas that possessed him, some of which were hard to achieve in practice, and some of which the July 1952 Revolution benefited from.
