The Clear Quran: A Thematic English Translation (The Clear Quran)

The Clear Quran: The Finest English Translation of the Meanings of the Quran. For a translation to do justice to the Quran, it must be accurate, eloquent, and accessible. The Clear Quran delivers on all three. Drawing on the greatest classical and modern works of tafsir (Quran commentary), the translator has produced a text that faithfully conveys the meaning of every verse while reading with the beauty, flow, and power of the original Arabic. What sets this translation apart: Thematic structure: the first translation to organize each surah (chapter) by topic, with clear headings that guide the reader through the Quran’s themes and internal coherence. Scholarly precision: corrects numerous errors found in earlier translations, whether in the interpretation of Quranic expressions or their rendering into English. Informative introductions and footnotes: each surah is introduced with essential context, and footnotes clarify difficult passages without overwhelming the reader. Natural, contemporary English: every word has been carefully chosen to reflect the majesty and directness of the Quran in language that resonates with today’s reader. About the translator: a specialist in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University, the translator combines deep scholarly grounding with decades of experience in Islamic education and outreach across the United States and Canada. Endorsements: officially approved by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and endorsed by the Canadian Council of Imams and numerous scholars and educators across North America.
