My Mother’s Bracelet

In this book I have spoken of the mother and her beating heart, the father and his overflowing tenderness, the teacher and his devotion to his pupils, the brother who shares with his brother his spirit, heartbeats, dreams and passing thoughts, and the friend whose presence makes life beautiful. I have also spoken of the noble word and the other word inhabited by evil; I have spoken of gallantry and of the kindness that fills people’s hearts, and said something about the ailments of souls and the diseases of hearts. I have not brought anything strange in this book, nor sought out wonders or dug for rarities; rather, I have tried to look at the same scenes and contemplate the same sights that everyone sees, but through a different lens, a purely personal one that carries my own colors and my modest experience. So I have taken the familiar and the well known and reproduced and reshaped it by giving an example, adding clarification, or casting new shades.
