A literary, critical and documentary study by Shams Al-Islam Ahmed Halou (published by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage). It gathers the scattered accounts and poems, dispersed across the texts of Arab heritage, of 56 Arab poets among the long-lived who reached 120 years of age or more, offering a thorough study of the concept of longevity in its linguistic, psychological and social dimensions, and arranging the poetic material of those who had no independent diwan and whose poetry was not collected within their tribal diwans, from the pre-Islamic period and early Islam to the end of the Umayyad state.
