The Question of the Caliphate and the Arabian Peninsula is an intellectual, political and historical work of great importance by the eminent Indian scholar and thinker Abul Kalam Azad. Its translated and edited Arabic edition was published jointly by Dar Al-Kitab Al-Misri and Dar Al-Kitab Al-Lubnani, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has also issued a complete translated edition as part of its heritage revival project. Originally written in Urdu in 1920, the book addresses one of the gravest geopolitical and religious questions to confront the Islamic world at the time of the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate.
